The story as narrated

Beyond the Chalk Cliffs The cliffs of chalk stand cold and gray, The year is young, the wind is chill, And through the salt-kissed morning spray, She walks the shore, restless and still. Above her head the seagulls cry, They chase each other through the gale, Like shifting ghosts across the sky, Where white wings dip and currents fail. Upon the dim and distant line, A lone ship fades into the blue, A silent, iron-hearted sign Of paths untamed and worlds anew. She looks beyond the breaking foam, Her voice rises above the sea: "Take me to where my heart found home, Where my true friends await for me. Across the vast and golden plain, A brighter dawn begins to gleam, We shall be gathered once again, To live the promise of our dream."
