Sora is shut down: what to use instead for finished videos

What happened to Sora?
On 24 March 2026 OpenAI announced it was winding Sora down. The consumer product went first: the Sora web and app experiences were switched off on . Developers got six months' notice: OpenAI set as the date the Videos API and all Sora 2 generation models (sora-2, sora-2-pro and their dated snapshots) are removed from the API. Two consequences. Reverse-engineered or "unofficial" Sora endpoints depend on the official API, so they share its discontinuation date and are no base for new work. And the question is no longer "how do I get into Sora" but "which engine do I move to, and does it fit the videos I actually publish". That second part is what this page is about: if you make one-off clips, any engine below will do; if you make full videos with narration, music and a thumbnail, the pipeline around the engine matters more than the engine.
What are the real alternatives to Sora 2?
Five engines on TubeTube are genuine substitutes, and two of them are the Chinese models Reddit threads keep recommending: Kling comes from Kuaishou and Hailuo from MiniMax. Seedance comes from ByteDance. Treating them as knockoffs is outdated. Kling 3's motion holds its own against anything, and Hailuo wins on price by a wide margin.

Moving off Sora: nothing to install, nothing to migrate
Sora's door was invites, an iOS app and country limits; the door here is a signup form. Create an account with email or Google, get 1,000 free credits with no card in most countries, and generate from the browser. There is no iOS requirement and nothing to install, it works the same from Europe or anywhere else, and videos render server-side while you watch each step live. If you were calling the Sora API from code, the same pipeline is reachable through a public REST API and a command-line tool, so a migration is a different endpoint, not a different workflow.
Clips are not videos: the assembly difference
Here's the part that matters if you run a channel. A 10-minute video is roughly 75 eight-second clips. Which Sora 2 alternative has native audio?

Same for the individual scene clips and the other asset files. The master is stored at full quality without any mark, so nothing is destroyed. Take any paid plan, $22 being the cheapest, and clean downloads switch on for that project and for everything else you've ever rendered on the account. The mark also changes position between scenes, so please don't plan a workflow around cropping it out. It's a paywall on the export, not on the tool.

Engine names and scene lengths reflect the lineup available on TubeTube in September 2026. Credits per scene were read from TubeTube's pricing table on 23 September 2026 for the default scene length of each engine; they cover the video clip only, and the app shows an exact itemized quote for the whole video before you launch.
