Lyrics as sung in the video

[Verse] We started out with complicated dictionaries, building up our grand designs Constructing heavy sentences and promises across the fragile fault lines But somewhere in the middle of the paragraphs we somehow lost the main plot We got tangled in the syllables and started fighting over what we haven't got [Chorus] Let's take it all the way back to the simple little letters A and B and C Before we tried to write a heavy masterpiece of broken tragic history We have to learn the alphabet of how to love and how to finally just breathe Erasing every bitter sentence, finding what our beating hearts actually need Just you and me deciphering the fundamental resonance of you and me
