The story as narrated
Once upon a time, in a bright and beautiful garden, lived a tiny snail called Sunny. Sunny had a shiny little shell and two curious eyes. But there was one thing Sunny wished he could change. He wished he could be FAST! Every morning, Sunny watched the other animals hurry by. A little rabbit bounced past. “Boing, boing!” A butterfly fluttered through the flowers. “Whoosh!” And a tiny bird swooped across the sky. “Wheee!” Sunny looked down at his little snail trail. “I wish I could move like that,” he sighed. So Sunny decided to practise being fast. He stretched as far as he could... and hurried... and hurried... and hurried! But Sunny had only travelled past one little flower. “Ohhhh,” he puffed. “Being fast is hard work!” Sunny slowly began his journey home. But as he travelled, he noticed something. A bright red ladybird was crawling across a leaf. A tiny flower was beginning to open. And little drops of morning dew sparkled in the sunshine like diamonds. Sunny stopped and looked around. “Wow...” The rabbit had rushed straight past them. The butterfly hadn't noticed them. And the little bird had flown right over them. But Sunny had seen everything. Sunny smiled. Maybe being slow wasn't such a bad thing after all. So he continued home at his own little snail pace... slowly... happily... and noticing wonderful things all along the way. And from that day on, Sunny never wished to be the fastest animal in the garden again. Because Sunny had discovered something very special. Sometimes going slowly helps you notice wonderful things along the way. The end.
